FlyToMama tracks flight prices between North America, Europe and Africa, and emails you the moment a good fare shows up. The service is free. This page explains who is behind it, where the prices come from, and how the site makes a living.
Who is behind FlyToMama
FlyToMama is founded and run by quiyai, from Montreal (Quebec, Canada). It started from a simple observation: for the African diaspora, a ticket to Dakar, Abidjan, Lagos or Nairobi often costs more than a thousand dollars, and the good fares last a few hours. Nobody has time to check prices six times a day. FlyToMama does it for you.
What the service does
- You pick a departure city, a destination in Africa and your dates. You get an email when the price drops, and an instant alert when an unusually low fare appears.
- We currently track 112 routes: 8 departure cities (Montreal, Toronto, New York, Washington, Atlanta, Paris, Brussels, London) to 14 African destinations.
- Every route page shows the best current prices, compares today's fare with the 90-day median, and reports the share of non-stop flights and the airlines seen. Those figures come from our own readings, not from an estimate.
Where the prices come from
Prices come from three sources, queried several times a day by our servers:
- Travelpayouts / Aviasales: the latest prices observed by the Aviasales search engine. It is also the site you are sent to when you book.
- Duffel: live offers on the exact dates of your alerts, in economy and business class.
- Google Flights, through the SerpAPI service: a daily check on the exact dates of each alert.
A price is a reading at a given moment. It may have changed by the time you click. Every card says how long ago the fare was seen, and the final price is always the one shown by the seller.
How the site makes money
When you book after clicking a FlyToMama link, Aviasales pays us a commission. It does not change the price you pay. That is the site's only income: no advertising, no selling of data, no paid subscription.
Your data
We keep the strict minimum needed to send your alerts: your email address and the trips you watch. The details, your rights and the third-party services we use are described in our privacy policy.
